Every group needs an Organizer. The role passes to someone else in two situations: the Organizer steps down, or they stop using WR-Games long enough that the role is offered to members. This page covers how that offer works, what you’ll see, and what happens if nobody accepts.

Stepping Down as Organizer

You can stay in the group after you step down. You just won’t run it anymore.
1

Open Your Group's Settings

On your group’s page, select the gear icon.
2

Choose to Step Down

In Danger Zone, pick Step down as organizer, then select Step Down.
3

Review and Confirm

The Transfer Ownership window shows who the role will be offered to. Select Confirm Step Down to start the hand-off.
A step-down can’t be undone. As soon as you confirm, you become a regular member, and the role stays on offer until someone accepts it or the offer runs out.

If You’re the Only Member

There’s no one to hand the role to, so you won’t see a step-down option. Your only option is to delete your group, which removes it permanently. Deleting your WR-Games account starts the same hand-off for every group you organize.

Who Gets Offered the Role

Either way, the offer ends 14 days after the Organizer steps down. Taking on a group counts toward your plan’s group limit. If you’re already at your limit, you’ll need to upgrade before you can accept. See Plans & Billing for the limits.

Getting the Offer

Co-Organizers get a notification and an email when the role is offered to them. Once the offer opens to every member, it appears at the top of the group’s page. The offer reads You’ve been offered the organizer role, shows how many days are left, and has two buttons: Accept and Decline.

Accepting or Declining

If you accept, you become the group’s Organizer right away. The previous Organizer stays in the group as a member. If you decline, what happens next depends on who you are:
  • As a Co-Organizer: once every Co-Organizer has declined, the offer opens to all members early, without waiting out the 7 days.
  • As a member: nothing changes for anyone else. The offer stays open to the rest of the group.
Declining is final for you. Once you decline, you can’t accept the same offer later.

If Nobody Accepts

Any member can still take the group on. When the offer runs out with no one accepting, the group is left without an Organizer, and every member gets a notification that the group needs a new one. Members then have 30 days to accept the role from the group’s page. If nobody does, the group is deleted. The Group Activity and Retention Policy explains that 30-day window and what deletion removes.

If Your Organizer Has Gone Quiet

Which path applies depends on whether your Organizer still uses WR-Games at all.
  • They’ve stopped signing in to WR-Games. The Group Activity and Retention Policy handles this. After a warning, the role is offered to members automatically. This only happens in groups whose Organizer is on the Free plan. Groups whose Organizer is on a paid plan or the Founder plan are never affected.
  • They still use WR-Games but haven’t visited your group in about three months. Members can ask to take over from Leadership & transfer in the group’s settings. For the first week, only Co-Organizers can ask. After that, any member can, for about a month. Customer Service reviews every request, and if yours is approved, you’ll get an email telling you to open the group and accept the role.
