WR-Games pulls board game groups in from Meetup so players can find games near them in one place instead of hunting across sites. If you run one of those groups, there’s a good chance we already have a page for it, with your upcoming Meetup events on it. Nobody’s running that page yet. Claiming it brings your group onto WR-Games, and it takes about a minute.
You don’t have to leave Meetup. Keep posting there, run everything on WR-Games, or do both. If you’d rather RSVPs stay where they are, pick link-out mode and WR-Games sends people to your Meetup event instead of collecting RSVPs itself.

How to Tell If a Group Is Unclaimed

An unclaimed group shows an Unclaimed badge on its page, near the group’s location and where its events come from.

Claiming Your Group

You claim a group from the same place you’d import one from Meetup. There’s no separate claim button.
1

Open the Import Option

Go to Create a Group. Above the form for a new group, you’ll see the option to import from Meetup instead. If you’re still setting up your account, the same option appears in the onboarding wizard.
2

Paste Your Meetup Group URL

Enter your Meetup group’s web address, exactly as you would to import a group for the first time.
3

Let the Wizard Find Your Group

Rather than building a new group, the wizard tells you We already have a page for this group and shows you what it found: cover image, name, city, and how many upcoming events are already on the page.
4

Review the Details and Pick Your RSVP Mode

Same choices as a normal import. Meetup Integration covers the difference between link-out and side-by-side.
5

Confirm You're Authorized

Select I confirm I’m authorized to run this group, then claim it. The page is yours from that moment.

Nothing Resets When You Claim

Claiming takes over the page that’s already there. It doesn’t build a second one. You also get the same tools as any other WR-Games group:
  • A full RSVP suite with waitlists and pre-event Roll Call
  • Event notifications by email and text
  • Custom roles and permissions
You can change your group’s web address later if you want a different one. Claiming doesn’t lock you in, and it doesn’t break the link people already have.

What You Get on WR-Games

  • Roll Call for tracking who’s actually coming
  • Search by game, so players find your events through the games on the table
  • Event tools built for board games

Before You Claim

Only claim a group you actually run. If another organizer shows that the group is theirs, WR-Games can transfer it to them.
The confirmation box during the claim is where you tell us you’re authorized to run the group.

If Someone Else Claimed Your Group

Get in touch and tell us which group it is. WR-Games can look into it, and once we’ve verified that you run the group, we can give you access. Contact us to open a support request.

Import from Meetup

Bring a Meetup group across when WR-Games doesn’t already have a page for it.

Meetup Integration
