On some events, the host turns on ranked seating. You put the games you’d like to play in order, and WR-Games seats you at the highest one that has room. At a ranked event, you’ll see a Rankings tab where Up for vote usually is.
Ranked seating needs the host to turn on both voting and tables. At events without it, seats are first come, first served. See On the Table.

Ranking Games

Ranking a game also votes for it. You can vote for a game without ranking it, and the game shows as voted, not ranked. Only ranked games can get you a seat.

Open Rankings

Your ranked games sit at the top in your order. Everything else is below the Not ranked line.

Select Rank

Select Rank on any game you’d play. It joins the bottom of your list.

Put Them in Order

Use the up and down arrows on each ranked game. Your order saves as you go.
Rank as many games as you like, even just one. Moving your last-place game down takes it off your ranking. Only you can see your ranking. The vote count on each game, and who voted for it, are visible to everyone at the event.

How Seats Are Filled

When someone opens a table for a game, the seats go to people who ranked that game, in this order:
  1. Whoever ranked it highest.
  2. If two people ranked it the same, whoever ranked it first.
You have to be RSVP’d as Going. Ranked seating gives you one seat at a time, though you can still join other tables yourself. When you get a seat, you’ll see a Your seat banner on On the Table and a notification: You got a seat at, followed by the table’s name, or the game’s name if the table doesn’t have one.
The person who opens a table can hold seats for people they’re bringing. A held seat counts as taken. Only the table’s creator or an organizer can fill it or release it.
Opening a table yourself doesn’t rank that game for you.

Moving Up

Your ranking keeps working after you’re seated. If a seat opens at a game you ranked higher than the one you’re at, you’re moved to it. That can happen when someone leaves a table, a table gets bigger, a new table opens, or you change your ranking. You’ll see a Your seat moved banner and a notification that names your new table and the one you left.

If Your Table Is Cancelled

You’re moved to the highest game on your ranking that has room, and you get one notification, for example: “The Wingspan table was cancelled. You’re now at The Azul Table, your second choice.” This includes the table’s lead. If none of your ranked games has room, you’re left without a seat, and your ranking stays in place for when one opens. When you cancel a table, the confirmation tells you how many players will be moved to another table by their rankings. It doesn’t name them.

Leaving a Seat

On a ranked event, leaving a seat also removes your rank for that game, so you aren’t seated there again. You’ll see Leave This Seat? first. Your vote for the game stays, and you can rank it again any time. If you remove the rank on a game you’re seated at, you’ll see Remove This Rank? with three choices:

If You Stop Going

Changing your RSVP from Going removes your votes and your ranking for that event. Coming back to Going doesn’t bring them back, so you’ll need to rank again. Your seats are given up, and any table you’re leading is cancelled.

Other Things to Know

  • If the host turns off voting or tables, your ranking is kept but doesn’t seat anyone. You can still remove ranks.
  • Once the event is over, nobody is moved.
  • Seat notifications appear in WR-Games only, not by email. Selecting one opens the event’s On the Table tab.
