If your game collection already lives on BoardGameGeek, there is no need to rebuild it from scratch on WR-Games. Connecting your BGG account pulls in your shelves automatically, organises them in your WR-Games collection, and unlocks notifications that fire whenever a game you own — or want to play — shows up in an upcoming event near you.

How to Connect Your BGG Account

Open Integrations

Go to Settings → Integrations.

Enter Your BGG Username

Type your BoardGameGeek username into the BGG Username field. You do not need your BGG password — WR-Games only reads your public collection data.

Choose Your Sync Categories

A list of up to 8 BGG shelf categories appears. Toggle on the shelves you want to bring across. You can enable or disable any category at any time.

Save and Sync

Click Save & Sync. WR-Games begins fetching your collection from BGG.

Wait for the Sync to Complete

The sync typically finishes in under a minute. You will see a confirmation once your games are ready in your collection.
Use the Select All and Clear All buttons above the category list to configure your shelves quickly without toggling each one individually.

What Gets Synced

WR-Games reads up to 8 BGG shelf categories. You choose which ones to include:
  • Owned — Games you have marked as owned on BGG
  • Want to Play — Games on your Want to Play list
  • Wishlist — Games you want to acquire
  • For Trade — Games you are willing to trade away
  • Want to Buy — Games you are actively looking to purchase
  • Preordered — Games you have on preorder
  • Previously Owned — Games you owned in the past
  • Favorites — Games you have rated 8 or higher on BGG

After Syncing

Once the sync completes, your games appear in your Collection tab, organised by the shelf categories you enabled. From there you can browse by shelf, search within your collection, and view each game’s detail page. WR-Games also uses your synced collection to send you event notifications. When an upcoming event near you lists a game from your Owned or Want to Play shelf, you will receive a notification so you never miss a chance to play something you care about.

Re-Syncing

Your BGG collection does not update automatically on a set schedule. To pull in recent changes — newly acquired games, updated shelf assignments — return to Settings → Integrations and click Save & Sync again. The sync overwrites stale data with your current BGG shelves.

Adding Your Board Game Arena Username

In the same Settings → Integrations section, you can enter your Board Game Arena (BGA) username. This links your BGA profile to your WR-Games identity for display purposes, letting other players find and recognise you across platforms.
WR-Games only reads your BGG collection data. It never writes back to BoardGameGeek or modifies your BGG profile, ratings, or shelves in any way.
