Event credits let you host a Custom Event or Open Game Night on your own account, without a group. Each credit costs $2 and covers one event. Credits are only for events on your own account. Game Sessions there are always free, and groups don’t use credits at all: how many events a group can publish depends on your plan.

What Event Credits Are For

Credits apply only to user-hosted events, the ones you create on your personal account rather than through a group:
  • Custom Events: fully configurable standalone events you host yourself
  • Open Game Nights: public drop-in sessions hosted outside a group
Each of these events uses one credit when you publish it.
Groups don’t use credits. A group’s events come with your plan: up to 5 events a month on the Free plan, and unlimited on any paid plan.

Game Sessions Are Always Free

Game Sessions never need credits, on any plan. You can host as many Game Sessions on your personal account as you like, at no cost.

Buying Credits

1

Open the Subscription tab

Go to Settings → Subscription from the top-right menu.
2

Find the Event Credits card

It shows your current balance and a quantity picker.
3

Pick a quantity and pay through Stripe

Choose how many credits you want at $2 each, then complete checkout on the Stripe page. You can still change the quantity there. Your new balance shows on the Subscription tab once Stripe confirms the payment.

Credits Don’t Expire

Credits stay in your balance until you use them, so you can buy ahead and use them whenever you’re ready.

When a Credit Is Used

A credit comes out of your balance when you publish a user-hosted Custom Event or Open Game Night. Saving a draft doesn’t use one. If you have no credits left, the event can’t be published until you buy more. If you cancel an event after publishing it, the credit isn’t refunded automatically. If you think a credit was taken by mistake, contact us.
Hosting standalone events often? Consider a group. Group events come with your plan: up to 5 a month on Free, and unlimited on any paid plan. See Plans for the full comparison.
