Event credits give you a simple, pay-as-you-go way to host a Custom Event or Open Game Night directly on your account — without needing to create or belong to a group. At $2 per credit, they’re designed for organizers who want to run occasional standalone events outside the group structure. Every WR-Games account, regardless of plan, receives one free event credit each month so you can try user-hosted events at no cost.

What Event Credits Are For

Credits apply only to user-hosted events — events you create on your personal account rather than through a group:
  • Custom Events — fully configurable standalone events you host yourself
  • Open Game Nights — public drop-in sessions hosted outside a group
Credits are consumed at the moment you create one of these event types. Each event costs one credit.
Group-hosted events never consume your personal event credits. When you run an event through a group, it counts against that group’s monthly event allowance (3 events/month on Free, unlimited on Standard and above) — not your personal credits.

Game Sessions Are Always Free

Game Sessions never require event credits, no matter which plan you’re on. You can create unlimited Game Sessions on your personal account at no cost, any time. Credits exist only for Custom Events and Open Game Nights hosted outside a group.

Your Free Monthly Credit

Every account automatically receives one free event credit per month. This credit covers one user-hosted Custom Event or Public Game Night — you don’t need to do anything to claim it. Unused free credits from the current month do not carry over, but any credits you purchase are yours to keep indefinitely.

Purchasing Credits

Open your account settings

Navigate to Settings → Billing from the top-right menu.

Find the Event Credits section

Scroll to the Event Credits panel to see your current balance and purchase options.

Choose a quantity and confirm

Select how many credits you’d like to buy at $2 per credit, then complete the purchase. Credits are added to your account immediately.

Credit Expiry

Purchased event credits never expire. You can buy them in advance and use them whenever you’re ready. Only your complimentary monthly free credit resets each billing cycle.

When Credits Are Deducted

A credit is deducted from your balance when you submit a new user-hosted Custom Event or Open Game Night. If you cancel the event after creation, the credit is not automatically refunded — contact support if you believe a credit was deducted in error.
If you find yourself hosting standalone events regularly, consider creating a group instead — it’s free with the Free plan and gives you up to 3 group-hosted events per month without touching your personal credits. Upgrading to Standard removes the monthly group event cap entirely.
